Hong Kong Disneyland: Things You Need To Know

hongkong disneyland

It’s my first time to visit Hong Kong Disneyland. It was a childhood dream of mine to explore this theme park. Growing up, Disney was our go-to movies whenever my sisters and I would like to watch a movie. And then it happened, when I stepped out of the train – the surreal feeling of having your childhood dream in your face at the moment was just magical. Here are the things that you might want to know before visiting Hong Kong Disneyland.

How to go there?

Hong Kong Disneyland is located on Lantau Island of Hong Kong. MTR Trains run from Sunny Bay Stations to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and vice versa, from early in the morning and late in the evening. Let’s say you’re coming from Tsim Sha Tsui or Wanchai, go to Central Station then walk to Hong Kong Station and take a train at Tung Chung Line (Yellow) going to Sunny Bay Station. From Sunny Bay, take a MTR Disneyland Resort train.

Visit Hong Kong Disneyland during Weekdays

As much as possible, plan your visit in Hong Kong Disneyland during the weekdays and skip the long queues in rides. Hong Kong locals have annual passes in the theme park so it can get busy during the weekends. One more thing, check Chinese calendar for holidays like school holidays, easter, new year and such – because it is so popular for mainland Chinese visitors.

Hong Kong Disneyland trip on a budget

It was my third day in Hong Kong when I visit Disneyland and I’m still a thrifty traveler where I’m scared of spending a lot to save up for the next coming days of the trip. Because of my frugality, I smuggled bread and water inside the theme park. I have a bad habit of converting everything in peso whenever I travel that is why I always find ways to get cheaper options. Maybe that’s a good habit too, what do you think? So apparently, you can bring in food inside the theme park you just have to hide it properly in your bag.
